Skyline National Bank Names Peter “Pete” Pequeno II as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer

Peter "Pete" Pequeno II, Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy OfficerINDEPENDENCE, VA – Skyline Bankshares, Inc. (the “Company”) (OTC QX: SLBK), the holding company of Skyline National Bank (the “Bank”), has appointed Mount Airy resident Peter A. Pequeno II as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer and a member of the Executive Management team. In this role, he will help shape the bank’s long-term strategy and work with its leadership team on enterprise-wide planning and organizational priorities.

Pequeno’s responsibilities include corporate strategy, merger and acquisition planning, artificial intelligence initiatives, and efforts to strengthen operational effectiveness throughout the organization. His work is focused on internal planning, innovation, and positioning Skyline National Bank for continued long-term success.

Pequeno brings over 36 years of banking experience to Skyline. He began his corporate banking career in 1990 with Southern National Bank, now Truist. In 1996, he became the founding Chief Lending Officer of Surrey Bank & Trust, later serving as its President from 2022 until the bank was acquired by First Community Bankshares, where he led the North Carolina commercial banking division as Regional President. His background includes executive leadership, commercial banking, credit administration, strategic planning, and team development.
